unwrapped

Just a quick post, to see if everyone is enjoying the Christmas break so far...I've been taking part in all the usual festive activities; eating and drinking too much, watching classic black and white films, winter walks, time with family and playing board games.

Here are some presents, now unwrapped from their pretty packaging.... soaps, pyjamas, vintage linen napkins and little silver jam spoons.

A winter walk to work off all those mince pies, The countryside looks beautiful this time of year, with it's patchwork of hedgerows dotted with white fluffy seed heads and red berries.

Have a wonderful New Year, see you in 2012!!

a festive weekend

I've had a lovely weekend so far, Chrismas drinks at my friend candy pop's beautifully kitsch penthouse, where I met some other friendly flickr folk.
We bought our Christmas tree, I decorated it with red and gold ribbon and strings of bells. I've had the little robin for ages and when not perched on top of a tree, lives on the bookshelf, as I can never bear to pack him away. I'm keeping the house festive with fairy lights and objects that catch the light to add sparkle and warmth to these frosty cold days.

a winters day

A grey winters Sunday, cutting and sticking, making cards, reading the latest Vogue and drinking hot tea on the sofa, buying Christmas chutneys and sweet biscuits, hanging little gold birds and hearts on our tree, making lists, tidying up, feeling cosy and warm at home listening to the wind and rain outside.

my week ....

Well, what have I been up to this week.....feeling festive at a Christmas market, eating mince pies and drinking warming mulled wine....a trip to the cinema to watch ' My week with Marilyn' and being inspired by fifties vintage fashion, putting up fairy lights and gold bunting around the house, printing out business cards on pink and pale green and buying anemones  for the kitchen
