morning

Some photos of my desk yesterday ... I made the little pin cushion from a lovely soft grey velvet and vintage lace, a really nice combination of fabrics. I took these photos just before I left to go to work, making the most of the morning sunshine. Today looks like a very different day, cold, windy and grey. Definitely a tea and toast morning, while catching up with all your inspiring blogs.

shop - found and sewn

Over the weekend I have been taking photos, writing descriptions and stocking the shelves of my Etsy shop. I have a mix of work for sale, like this pretty brooch I made from a piece of vintage lace work, decorated with glass beads and pearls ...

... and my vintage collage greeting cards, and lavender sachets made with English Cotswold lavender, which smell lovely.

It's very exciting to finally have my own little shop open!

Take a look here. I'd love to know what you think?

I bought a few things for myself over the weekend too. This Observer book of wild flowers is pretty tatty, but I like it that way, a mint green doily now at home on my desk and a strip of broderie anglaise waiting to made in to something nice.

Thanks for all you lovely comments about my shop x

opening soon

I am finally getting around to setting up my own etsy online shop. I've finished off all the fixtures and fittings and the doors will be open soon. Here is a sneak peek at one of the items for sale; a soft pink silk purse, with vintage broderie anglaise detail, fastened with a ribbon and a mother of pearl button.

I hope to see you there soon!

september days

September has started well. Last Sunday we were invited to the Oxford Flickr group Picnic by my friend Candy Pop, so I packed my favourite straw basket with homemade pizzas and little cakes to take to Christchurch Meadow.
The lovely vintage Avon Pomander below, I actually won on a giveaway featured on Candy Pops's blog and it wasn't even a fix! It's now hung up in my bedroom. Thank you Candy Pop!!

Yesterday was very exciting, we went to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London to see 'As you like it.' The performance was amazing and because the theatre is so small you get to see every detail. (Sorry no photos allowed inside.) Afterwards we walked along the Thames in the warm sunshine and through the arches to Monmouth Coffee, I had a delicious ice latte and a chocolate brownie.  What could be better.

Well that's what I've been up to, how about you?
