the little things....

Not much sewing going on this week I'm afraid, instead I thought I'd show you some of the little things that make me happy; bright pink flowers, floral bedlinen with a Liberty print fabric cushion I made, a green and white plate I bought at a flea market, a new edition of Vogue and finally, my new favourite purse that my mum gave to me.

What simple little things make your day?

getaway

Well I'm back from our getaway to Spain, it's a bit of a shock to be back at work after spending our days enjoying the warm sunshine, simple lunches of fresh prawns, buying fruit from the local market and our morning coffees at our favourite cafe.
I may slightly have the post holiday blues, but now I'm settled back at home, I'm looking forward to wrapping back up for the winter months ahead.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

nice & tidy

Thank you for always leaving such lovely comments on my blog. I love reading them all!

I've been tidying up around here; folding away new fabrics into an old picnic hamper, storing bits of inspiration and clearing my desk of beads and buttons. We are off on a little getaway to Spain for a few days and it's always nice to come home to a clean and tidy workroom, ready to start a fresh with new ideas and designs.

See you all when I get back...

costume jewellery

A few weeks ago I managed to make it to the Oxford flea market, which is one of my favourite things to do. It was a lovely bright sunny day, perfect for a bit of junk spotting.

There was a stall selling costume jewellery, I spent ages looking through all the vintage pieces and finally came away with a few little sparkly brooches and pins, I like them because they are so tiny.

I have a plan for them , so you will have to wait and see......

silver shimmer

I do love silvery greys mixed with ivory whites, it could be the effect of the dark winter months drawing in, but I like how they shimmer and sparkle in the light.

As you can see I have been working on some new pieces, my work desk is overflowing with vintage lace, beads and buttons.

The little silver purse above, I decorated with a beautiful bit of vintage white lace netting and finished with an antique button.
Now for sale in my shop

birthday trip

Like I need anymore lace, but I was in The Cloth House in London yesterday and I couldn't resist a couple of pieces.
It was my birthday and my boyfriend had tickets for the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition at Tate Britain.
It was a rainy day so what better way to spend it than looking at beautiful paintings.

Afterwards we walked around the little shops and cafes of Marylebone and went for dinner at the Fish Works, which was delicious!

I hope you are having a nice week so far....
