new spring cards

handmade

While I was snowed in last week I made a new selection of spring cards, just looking at them now I can't wait for spring to arrive and to get out into our little garden. I went a bit crazy planting lots of tulip and daffodil bulbs in the autumn and I can already see bunches of snowdrops peeking up through the soil, still a few more months to go I think....

I have a selection of my cards in my etsy shop and I will be stocking the shelves with some more soon.

Any nice plans for the weekend?

snow days

little deer

I've had a few (unexpected) days off work due to the snow, so my boyfriend and I have been trapped in our little village, which has been quite nice, but hopefully back to normal soon...

Have you been enjoying the snow?

The little china deer in the photo above was a gift from my lovely friend Natasha of (Candy Pop). Looking around my house I've realised I have a thing for for china animals and birds...Is this wrong?

inspiration

How's your weekend going? I've been at home working on some new pieces for a brand new gallery opening up in the grounds of Blenheim Palace in Woodstock. The Oxfordshire Crafts Gallery, as it will be called, will sell work from local artists and they have asked me for a collection of my handmade accessories. How lovely!
So I've got until the end of the month to get sewing, as the gallery opens on the 9th February.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

winter

teasgarden birds

At this time of year when it's looking grey and misty it's easy to stay inside and not do much, but I always feel better for getting outside. In the winter you get those quiet, still days when everything seems to be hibernating, trees are bare, little birds dart from the hedgerows and the sun is nowhere to be seen. We took a picnic on our walk and ate most of it as soon as we left to house.
I love the pictures in this garden birds book, which I bought recently, they illustrate winter perfectly.

happy 2013

happy new year!
Happy New Year!

We saw the new year in with a group of friends at our local pub, sat by the fire, twinkly candle lights, drinking champagne, clinking glasses and lots of laughing, it was a great way to spend new years eve.

It's traditional to go for a long walk on new years day, so that's what we did. After a hearty breakfast, we got wrapped up, wellies on, and off out across the park. The rest of the day I've been drinking tea and watching Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca, which I love, and the perfect lazy afternoon film.

Thanks for visiting my blog during 2012, it really wouldn't be the same without you x
