sunday bits
What a gorgeous day it's been today! One of those perfect sunny autumnal days that you want to last forever....
This post is a bit of a catch up, as finding time to take photos seems difficult at the moment, but I'm hoping to get back on track soon. It's been interesting reading how people find time for their blogs and I've been getting some tips here. I'd love to know how you all fit it into your day?
I'm reading this lovely Cath Kidston book, which also looks pretty on my sewing room shelf amongst the jam jars of buttons.
I've been busy sewing away and my desk is currently covered in floral fabrics, ribbons and sketch books.
Blue stripy bunting that I made for a new shop opening... (more on that soon)
...Cup of tea with my mum in her sunny kitchen, don't you love this pale blue teapot. And finally picking lots and lots of cooking apples. We are storing some for the winter and I've been making quite a few apple crumbles. x

vintage haberdashery
I was so excited to receive this parcel of crochet and lace motifs that I ordered from The Linen Garden. I've got a feeling it won't be the last either, as there are so many beautiful things to buy in Vicky's haberdashery shop.
I'm starting work on some new pieces tomorrow using these lovely bits.
I've also been working on a beaded lace brooch, with a step by step guide on how to make it, which will be featured in a new sewing magazine in November. I was really pleased with the finished brooch, so I hope you like it too.
I couldn't resist this piece of floral fabric, I love the autumnal colours. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to make with it yet, maybe a laundry bag or a cushion for this little chair?

lost for a day
We escaped the heat and sat under the stone arch promenade which overlooks the river. It's such an inspiring place, look at those stunning powdery grey carved seats, the perfect setting for this silver and lace clutch purse I made. ( Now for sale in my Etsy Shop.)
