I wanted to visit Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs exhibition at the Tate Modern as soon as I heard about it.
One of my all time favourite exhibitions was back in 2005, Henri Matisse 'His art & his textiles' So I was pretty excited about this exhibition.
It certainly didn't disappoint. The exhibition was amazing, there were over 120 collages on display throughout the 14 rooms. It was wonderful to see these familiar images in the flesh; the brush marks, the tiny pin holes, the torn edges, but what strikes you most is the pure colour and vibrancy of his work, just stunning.

There are also some wonderful films of Matisse cutting out coloured shapes and directing his assistant on the final composition.
I can really recommend a visit, the exhibition continues until 7th September 2014.
