liberty love
You may have already guessed but I do love Liberty prints, they are dotted around my house in the form of cushions, lampshades, covered notepads and even pincushion mice. There are some great ideas in this Liberty book of home sewing.
Today I painted this wooden chair in cornflower blue for my sewing room and then made an envelope cushion cover using this Liberty print. I love little projects like this, in no time you can make a big difference to a room.
Well I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself, so I'm off to make a cup of tea.
Have you been making any home improvements recently? I'd love to know.

Adorable transformation.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely ... the blue is beautiful ... can I be cheeky and ask what paint you used ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteI used an Annie Sloan chalk paint, I think the colour was Louie Blue. You only need to give it one coat, which is great! x
DeleteThanks for letting me know ... chalk paint it great ... I love that it doesn't seem streaky ... Bee xx
DeleteThe chair is amazing - I love the colour. I have painted a wall white if that counts?! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore this. Big Liberty fan here. I love the half and half painted effect of the chair and that is one of my fave colours. Enjoy that well earned cuppa!
ReplyDeleteJust soooo pretty! :) x
ReplyDeleteThat print looks gorgeous as a pillow - and great job with the chair! I never thought of just doing the seat!! Very creative.
ReplyDeleteLoved the blue ..and that you left the legs! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI just picked up an old Liberty book of home sewing from the late 70s... fun!
I adore that blue! And all the liberty prints - a perfect partnership :) I have grand (and very long overdue) plans to paint our horrid magnolia radiator cover pink this weekend - maybe this weekend is the one! xx
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I have to start in two weeks!! Can you believe I will have a home soon?? Me neither :)
ReplyDeleteThe chair is gorgeous and so is the blue you've chosen (I guess it is the chair you told me about, regarding that AS's paint?). I so love this reading corner- the chair, vintage suitcases, the blues, the lamp, the cute handmade details. Perfection indeed!( I'd see a bunch of fresh flowers or spontaneous herbs in the pic, but anyway... ;)).
xoxo

I took that book out from the library for about 2 months!
ReplyDeleteLove your chair and cushion.
Everything about Liberty prints is just so divine.
We've been doing some diy too - painting our walls white, sounds crazy but it took us a while to find the right white!
That mouse is adorable! Great job with the chair, it's a lovely colour.
