my stockman

Here's my lovely stockman tailors dummy. I away use it in my open studio exhibitions, as it looks great with corsages pinned to it. I may have mentioned how much I treasure it before, but I love it's faded tea stained colour and worn edges. It makes the perfect prop.

Two new corsages finished with vintage broken necklaces, buttons and beads.

  1. One of these days... I will have my own mannequin... I love yours... especially that it is tattered and well loved ♥♥

  2. How lovely! I found an old mannequin in our loft when I moved in. I'm not much of a dressmaker, though, so I gave it to my friend Annie. It was such a cool find! Laura x

  4. Thanks for your kind comments. You can buy new mannequins, but it's just not the same. I was really lucky and paid £20 for mine xx

  5. Oh dear ! After 25 years designing from the 60,s /late 80,s I eventually threw my 2 stockmans on the tip years ago If my memory serves me right I paid £40 for them from Franks. My cats found them a great climbing exercise and I would hear them crashing in my studio . Of course I regret it now. I am desperately looking on ebay .Nothing like a stockman .
