vintage lace bag


 As you know I love to collect pieces of vintage lace and when I designed this clutch bag I wanted to make lace a real feature.
There are some really beautiful pieces which I have mixed with buttons and beads. I wish I knew more about the techniques and types of lace that I've used..... I think some of it's crochet and tape lace.
 Finding these special pieces and incorporating them into my designs is a really important part of my work. 

This lovely bag is now on sale in the Gallery at Waterperry Gardens along with some other pieces of my work.

    Hi, I really like that coffee colour and the lace. My mum has knitted lace edging with crochet cotton on fine needles and it looks a bit like the lace on the right of your first photo. I too would like to know more about this. A quick google search revealed lace making and craft holidays ! Now there's a thought! A girl can dream :)

    I know this is an ancient post for web standards but I love the bag! I'm hoping to make something of a similar shape and feel for my wedding and was wondering if you used a pattern at all?

      Thank you! I design and make all my own patterns, so each bag is unique. I do have a clutch bag for sale which is very similar and has vintage lace work. If you are interested please let me know.
